GSDC of Northern Ohio---May 2, 1987---Winners
Dog & Best Opposite Sex
"Very masculine, black and red/tan. Nice ground
covering gait. Not as smooth and impressive if pulling hard.
I found it surprising to see a Doppelt-Tay breeding in the ring.
I wasn't aware they were still breeding dogs, but they are, and still
producing good ones."
-Jerry Graham
GSDC of Detroit Specialty --- 1988 - - Winners Dog
& Best of Winners
"The Best of Winners and Winners Dog, Doppelt-Tay's
Zeek v Stonehaven, was a very impressive, almost three year old animal.
He is a good size male with strong secondary sex characteristics, good
pigment, and good
temperament. Posed and in motion, he has an extremely strong topline,
excellent croup, and one of the better forequarters that I've seen. This
very good forequarter, complimented with a well angulated rear quarter,
allowed this dog to move extremely well from the side with easy, long,
but very powerful strides. The rear drive was transmitted through a very
good croup and extremely strong back."
~ Judge Dr Walter Frost
1996 Red Book Report
"Zeek" was bred by Cynthia Clifford of Doppelt-Tay
Kennels. Sired by our Ch Belrick Edge of Night v Danja ROM/C. Zeek came
to us "in lieu" of a stud fee when he was 9 weeks old. "Zeek"
grew into a handsome, very masculine, black and red dog.
Standing 26 1/2 inches at the wither, he displays
a magnificent, classic headpiece, and an exciting, extreme sidegait. This
guy accumulated over 20 Best of Breed wins during his career as a special.
He was awarded his ROM title in the U.S. at 6 1/2 years of age, his title
ROM Canada followed shortly thereafter.
To date he was sired 15 US Champions and 10 Canadian
Champions. We feel that "Zeek" has had a positive influence
on our breed. Although he is now deceased, we have store many frozen breedings
for use in the future. We will always be grateful
this "slightly" stubborn, incorrigible, wonderful dog who shared
our lives and our hearts. In the show ring and at home, he always thrived
on the amused reactions of his audience.
We miss him."
