"The delightful Jamaica was bred by Dan
Dwier and Connie Beckhardt out of that great producing bitch Cobert's
Melissa, highest ROM dam in the history of the breed. Jamaica is
the the progeny of Melissa's to earn an ROM title. She was sired
by the great Ch. Eko-Lan's Paladen ROM and her dam Melissa was inbred
on the great Ch. Bernd vom Kallengarten ROM. The breeding of Melissa
to Paladen was distant line breeding on Axel v Deininghauserheide, but
the heavily inbred Melissa clicked well with the Lance bloodlines as evidenced
in her prior breedings to Lance himself. Dick Jennings who owns
Jamaica cleverly inbred her to her half brothers GV Ch. Lakeside's Harrigan
ROM and then to Reno's son Ch. Pinebeach's Donovan, who was her nephew.
Each of these breedings produced Champions. Quite a beginning for
Dick Jennings, for Jamaica is the first Shepherd he ever owned."
