Information for Prospective ROM Dam Owners

You must be a member of the GSDCA at the time your dog/bitch is awarded the ROM.

For the purpose of compiling the information for this report, the ROM year is January 1 to December 31. Thus the point totals and number of progeny listed for each bitch are as of December 31, 1999. To compare your totals with the report, simply include only wins from 1999. Please bear in mind that these records are compiled only from the AKC Gazette, and the show results normally appear in the Gazette two to three months after each show.

Please remember that you must wait for confirmation from the ROM Chairman before advertising a new ROM dam. Telephone or send a note (see "Committees") as soon as you believe your bitch has qualified. This will enable us to make confirmation at the earliest possible time.

To Become a Register of Merit Dam

In order for a dam to become a Register of Merit, the following requirements must be met.

1. Her owner must be a member of the GSDCA, Inc.

2. Her points must be 40 or more.

3. The points must be earned by four or more progeny.

4. -Two progeny must earn the title of AKC Champion, or the Parent Club designation of ROM. The other contributing progeny must have won at least a major reserve.

To Become An ROM Candidate

In order for a dam to become a Register of Merit candidate, the following requirements must be met:

1. Her owner must be a member of the GSDCA, Inc.

2. Point total must be 25 points or more.

3. -Points must be earned by one Champion and one additional major reserve winner.
