GSDCA PARADE OF SHEPHERD GREATS

"parade" will be on Friday, October 10, 2003  during lunch break

Requirements for participation

1. Former Grand Victor or Victrix of U.S. and Canada
2. Select Dogs and Bitches at least seven (7) years old (U.S.A. only)
3. ROM Sires and Dams at least seven (7) years old.
4. Champion UD Dogs and Bitches at least seven (7) years old.
5. Former Obedience Victors and Victrixes (U.S.A. only)
6. U.D.T. Dogs and Bitches at least seven (7) years old.
7. O.T.Champions at least seven (7) years old.
8. Schutzhund III degree dogs at least seven (7) years old (Trained in U.S. only)
9. Highest winning German Shepherd Dog as per American Kennel Club records 
    indicating total number of dogs, any breed defeated in a given year.
10. U.D./H.S.,U.D./H.I.,U.D./H.X.,Dogs and Bitches at least seven (7) years old.
11. Any AOE Recipient. No age restriction
12. Former Agility Victors / Victrixs (must be at least 7 years old)
13. Service Dogs (must be at least 7 years old) MUST PROVIDE PROOF of status as recognized service dog. MUST PROVIDE VERIFIABLE WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION, at time of entry. Categories:         a. Guide Dog,  b. Mobility Assistance Dog,   c. Hearing Dog, d. Seizure Assistance Dog.
14. Former No. American Seigers/Seigrens
15. Certified Search and Rescue. Requirements for Search and Rescue Dogs in the Parade of Great Dogs
a.  The owner must provide proof that this is a recognized SAR dog to include a certificate    from the SAR team as proof of completion of testing for certification.
b.  The dog must be seven (7) years old or older.
c.  The owner must provide proof that their dog was trained under the guidelines and standards of NASAR (National Association for Search and Rescue).
d.  Document showing proof of service. (i.e., individual SAR team leader, public safety agency representative, or any other agency the SAR dog and handler have worked with  that would issue a record of service).
e.   Dog and handler should be in uniform at the Parade.

The categories would include:
Cadaver Dogs:  A dog that searches for human remains
Wilderness Search Dogs:  A dog that is trained to search for missing persons.  Wilderness dogs are trained around obstacles and city streets which makes it possible to check a town, city, or a neighborhood as well as to search in remote, uninhabited areas.
Drowned Victim Recovery Dogs:  A dog that is trained to work in and around water conditions for human remains.
Urban Search Dog:  A dog that is trained to search for living victims of disaster, such as earthquakes or ground zero.  
 

Please send a seventy five (75) word resume of dog's accomplishments and an  8"x10" Glossy picture suitable for use in the catalog. Resumes will be edited for reading at presentation.
Fee for each entry in the Parade is $50.00 (US Funds Only). Make check payable to GSDCA National Specialty.
Please note the following restrictions:
No dog or bitch may be presented in the Parade, if it is lame, in poor health or of color disqualified according to the standard of the breed.
All Rosettes must be picked up the day of the event. None will be mailed.
Entries close : September 1, 2003. Please note early closing.
