"Linebreeding: Trutz Schwanenstadt (4-5), Esta Prsussenblut (4-5), L-Litter Preussenblut, Lex-Lende, (3-4) This is a well-structure, strong male with good bones; with noble head and expression and in good condition.  Temperament and defense reaction could be better; quiet, alert, good natured.  Height 24.8 inches, weight 88 pounds.  Color: Black and reddish tan.  During gaiting back shows some movement, paws and pasterns are soft, pastern is loose and somewhat straight.  The following year, when Caesar was surveyed again, Mr. Trox emphasized that the pastern was not straight, that paws and pasterns were not soft, and that the back was not wobbly, but that the dog had an extremely strong back."

"Caesar produced uniformly a definite richness in pigmentation, dark rush color and black.  This coloring seemed to be the hallmark of animals rich in "R" litter Osnabruckerland breeding.  Caesar was used frequently by sheep men for the breeding of herding dogs.  He was known to give endurance and strength over a long period of time to his progeny.  Caesar was capable of getting good front assemblies but could, in the less desirable offspring, produce too great of length in back, long loins and somewhat a weakness in back due to the length."
