This seminar is great for everyone! It is an introduction to games that you can play with your dogs and puppies that will be fun and stimulating. The games are great for building relationships and confidence. There will also be games for dogs that already have scent work skills. The seminar will be followed by an opportunity to play the games with your dog or puppy.
Hallie began as a K9 Handler over 20 years ago and later a K9 Team Evaluator and Trainer. She shows in Obedience, Herding, Tracking, Schutzhund, Breed and Nose Work ®, is a Judge for AKC Scent Work and certified as a NACSW Judge.

Obedience Seminar with Kristin Brooks Jones
Wednesday, October 17th: 4:00-5:00 PM Gateway Hall (Obedience Area)
ALL SKILLS AND LEVELS WELCOMED. BRING YOUR DOG.
●The use of markers and rewards ● Creating and sustaining engagement ●Obedience games●
Kristin Brooks Jones has been training and showing German Shepherd Dogs in AKC Obedience since 2003. She competes in Obedience, Tracking, Agility and IPO. Kristin and Heka (who passed away in July 2018), earned 4 GSDCA Victrix Awards: the 2014, 2016, and 2017 GSDCA Obedience Victrix and the 2017 Agility Victrix, tying the record. At the AKC National All Breed Championship, they finished in the Top 20 the past 2 years. They have even earned an elusive perfect 200 score! Kristin and Heka have earned their OTCH, MACH2 and TDX along with many other titles. Kristin believes that success in any venue begins with a strong relationship between the handler and the dog. In this seminar, Kristin will focus on games that enhance the engagement between dog and handler and that promote better, more precise heeling, fronts and finishes – the foundation of all obedience.
Emergency Medicine Seminar with Michelle (Chelle) Schumann DVM

Wednesday, October 17th: 5:00-6:00 PM Founders Room (Upstairs)
Dr. Michelle Schumann is a 1990 graduate of the University Of Minnesota College Of Veterinary Medicine in St. Paul, Minnesota. She practiced in Albuquerque New Mexico for 15 years first as an Associate Veterinarian and then served as Medical Director in several related specialty practices in the area. Dr. Schumann’s career has since taken her to the beauty of Montana where she is practicing emergency medicine as well as some general practice medicine for the last 12 years. Dr. Schumann’s love of the German Shepherd Dog began before she was school age as her father was a border patrol agent with a working GSD in southern New Mexico. Since then she has been blessed with “the best dog in the world” many times and they are all remembered with love and a smile. Her current dogs are her service dogs and are a mother/daughter team, Violet and Bee! who are multi-talented with titles in Agility, Herding, Barn Hunt, Tracking, and Dock Diving.

Because of your generous 2017 donations, the GSDCA's Charitable Trust has already accomplished a tremendous amount. Even if you were unable to contribute last year, we hope you will join us with your 2018 donation and celebrate the success:

TWO JUNIORS (3 were invited) have returned from a life-changing experience at the Westminster Kennel Club shows in New York City, funded and made possible by The GSDCA's Charitable Trust.

Over 400 attended EDUCATION DAYS at the most recent GSDCA National Specialty. As of January 2018, the WORLD has access to the seminar videos via our club's website - because of the generosity of you, our Membership and Friends, via the Charitable Trust.
